What is teresa graves?

Teresa Graves was an American actress and singer, best known for her role as a police officer in the television series "Get Christie Love!" which aired in the mid-1970s. Born on January 10, 1948, in Houston, Texas, Graves gained initial fame as a singer, performing with The Doodletown Pipers and appearing on "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In," which was a popular sketch comedy show at the time.

Her breakthrough role came when she starred as Detective Christie Love, making her one of the first African-American women to lead a prime-time TV drama. The show was notable for its strong, independent African-American female protagonist, which was groundbreaking during the era.

After her success on television, Graves gradually stepped away from the entertainment industry. She became a Jehovah's Witness and dedicated much of her life to her faith. Sadly, her life was cut short when she died in a house fire in Los Angeles on October 10, 2002. Despite a relatively brief career in entertainment, Teresa Graves left a lasting impact, particularly as a trailblazer for African-American women in television.
